Your Facebook profile allows you to tell your story by sharing interests, photos, and personal information. You can manage who sees your content, control how tags appear on your timeline through profile and tagging settings, and enable professional mode to build a public presence while keeping your personal connections.

The information in the Intro section of your profile is always public, but you can choose what information you want to include in your Intro section.

Your Facebook profile has additional fields where you can add information about yourself and the things that you're interested in. The sections of your profile that you can add or edit include:
Intro: A bio or brief description of yourself.
Personal details: Personal details including relationship status, family members, location, gender and date of birth.
Work: Your past and current work experiences.
Education: Your secondary school and/or university.
Hobbies: Hobbies that you're interested in.
Interests: Things that you're interested in, including TV shows, films, games, music and sports.
Travel: Places that you've visited or want to go and visit.
Links: Links to any personal sites or things that you like
Contact info: Ways that people can get in touch with you, including social media links, phone number and email address.
You can also choose to share any new profile updates to your feed with the Share to feed option.
When you tap the Friends with things in common tab on your profile, you'll see a list of friends who have added the same interests or details to their profiles as you have. You'll also see which specific interests or details you share with each friend. If you tap on an interest, you'll get a full list of friends who share that interest. This allows you to connect with more people who have similar interests.
Update photos and stories in the featured section of your Facebook profile
The Featured section is part of your profile that allows you to choose photos and stories to highlight to help people get to know you better. When choosing your Featured photos and stories, you can combine multiple photos and stories into a collection.
Add photos and stories to your Featured section
When you add photos and stories to your Featured section:
It creates a copy of the original photo or story. This means that likes and comments from the original photo or story won't appear on your featured photo or story.
The original photo or story will also remain where you originally uploaded.
In Featured, the photos and stories are public. This means that they can be seen by everyone, off and on Facebook.
To add photos or stories to the Featured section:
Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook, and then clicks your name to go to your profile.
In the Intro section, click Edit Featured.
Click Add new.
Select the photos you'd like to add, then click Next.
Click Save.

You can delete a collection from your Featured section or remove photos or stories from a collection. When you remove photos and stories from your Featured section, it doesn't delete the original photo or story:
Get help with adding and editing your profile info
You can manage your profile by adding or editing basic information and customizing the About section of your profile. Additionally, you have the option to enable Professional mode to access creator tools and insights.
Adding information to your profile's About section
You can follow a Page for music, books, TV shows, films, apps and games, or video games to add it to the About section of your profile. To remove something that you've followed from your About section, you can unfollow the Page.
Some apps can add things to your About sections based on your in-app activity.

From your Feed, click [your name] at the top of the left menu.
Click More below your cover photo, and select Manage sections.
Click the sections that you want to add or remove.
Click Save.
You can also hide a section by clicking more at the top right of the section and selecting Hide section.
When you hide a section, the things you've followed are still visible to the audience that they're shared with elsewhere on Facebook, such as in Feed and search.

Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook, then click your name.
Click About, then Family and relationships
Click Add a relationship status or click the Edit next to your relationship.
Choose your relationship status from the drop-down menu. Depending on your status, you may also have the option to add the name of the person you're in a relationship with and your anniversary.
Use the audience selector to choose who you wants to share this with.
Click Save.
You can also add your relationship status as a life event on your profile.
Note: You can only list someone in your relationship status if you're friends with that person. That person also needs to confirm that you're in a relationship together before they're listed in your relationship status.

Sharing your relationship status on Facebook is optional. You choose who can see your relationship status on your profile by using the audience selector.

Click About, then click Family and relationships.
In the Relationship section, click the privacy settings next to your relationship.
Set your privacy settings to Only me.
Your partner may want to share that they're in a relationship with you on their profile. Each person controls who can see their relationship status on their profile. If you confirm that you're in a relationship with your partner when they update their relationship status, the relationship may appear on their profile, depending on their audience settings.

You can find upcoming birthdays from the Friends section on Facebook:
From your Feed, select Friends from the left menu.
Click Birthdays from the left menu.
From here, you'll see today's birthdays, recent birthdays and upcoming birthdays.
Update your birthday settings
You can update your birthday and who can see it on Facebook. Birthdays need to match across all accounts in an Accounts Centre. If you have additional Facebook profiles, your birthday from your main profile will carry over to your additional profiles. You can't change your birthday on your additional Facebook profiles, but you can change who can see your birthday on each of your profiles.

On Facebook, you can choose who can see the day and month of your birthday as well as who can see the year of your birthday. If you choose not to share the day and month of your birthday, your friends won't get a notification about your upcoming birthday.

You can add an audio recording of your name to your Facebook profile. People can play your name pronunciation and hear how to say your name. All name pronunciations are Public and visible to everyone.

When to create a page or turn on pro mode for your profile
If your goal is to represent your business, brand or product on Facebook, create a Page. A Page lets you engage with people on Facebook and offers tools to help you manage and track engagement.
If your goal is to share updates with a broader audience from your profile, the place where you’re connected with friends and family, you can turn on pro mode. When you turn on pro mode, anyone on Facebook can follow you to see your public updates in their Feed, even if you're not friends on Facebook. You can choose to post content to a public audience or to your friends only.
Whether you use your profile with pro mode or a Page, you can have an unlimited number of people following you, and you can follow up to 5,000 people. You can have up to 5,000 friends on your profile even in pro mode.

To access this information as a profile visitor:
Go to a profile by clicking its name in your Feed or searching for it.

What information is shown in the 'Profile transparency' section?
The information in the 'Profile transparency' section comes from Facebook and includes:
Meta determines the primary country location of a profile owner by a person's information and activity across Meta technologies. This includes the stated location on their Facebook profile, and device and connection information.
Sometimes Facebook can't share the exact country location of a profile owner because the account may be too new or we haven't determined their location yet.
However, we will not show a primary country location for any disabled accounts or for system users.
What if I don't want this information on my profile?
The 'Profile transparency' section itself cannot be removed or hidden. You can remove or request to remove some information.
You can submit a request for Facebook to hide your primary country location because of special circumstances including risks to personal safety. If your primary country location is hidden, people visiting your profile will see 'Location hidden by profile owner' below 'Profile info'.
